I encourage anyone reading this post do to the same thing for a day or even a week, and perhaps donate to So Others Might Eat or your own favorite charity over the holidays. It really adds up, and it should go to people who really NEED to eat, not to what I simply CRAVE eating. While I still do a weekly Chipotle run and/or order takeout with the hubby, it's much less frequent now, and usually what I order is more targeted in terms of nutrition and calories.īut $300 is only HALF the average amount of money I would've spent over the past 11 weeks, had I not started this challenge. The sad fact of the matter is that I know I am one of many who used to carelessly spend hundreds of dollars on Cafe Mochas, cafeteria coffee, MSG-laden cafeteria food by the pound, 300-calorie vending machine snacks once or even twice a day, Chipotle chips and guac as a snack, and countless fast food and/or curbside takeout meals. Now, this challenge was really for personal, selfish reasons, so I won't pretend it was really to be charitable and stuff. If you're considering making a donation but first would like proof that I did this, I suppose you can call them up (SOME) and ask if a Diana Forbes donated $300 today, and they could confirm it. I wish I had thought to do a screen shot "grab" of the automated thank-you letter, but I forgot. I just made a donation online to So Others Might Eat. ![]()
